1. File the tip of the client’s nail into a point. Polish in the desired lacquer color. Once the nail is dry, polish the nail tip in light orange or yellow, as though you were doing a French manicure. 2. Paint stripes on the nail: light beige down the length of the nail for wood and light gray across the nail for metal. Let the paint dry. 3. Create a wood-grain pattern with darker beige paint and a small art brush. Add dark gray for the pencil lead. Medium pink paint is perfect for an eraser. Use medium gray paint to add detail on the metal. 4. Complete the design by adding white highlights down the side of the pencil. Let the nail dry. Apply top coat.
