How to Do Runway Nails Just Like Kimmie Kyees

She’s already done the nails of Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and more – and now Kimmie Kyees will show you how to do your own. The celebrity manicurist came up with five shiny styles for models at this fashion show (see the designs below), and now she’s giving the skinny on how to do each of them. 

Numbered Kimmie

Look 1: Reversed French

1. Prepare and shape the nail by cutting, filing and pushing back the cuticle.
2. Do one coat of Red Carpet Manicure Clingy Base Coat.
3. Do two coats of Red Carpet Manicure Black Stretch Limo Nail Lacquer.
4. Sprinkle fine loose gold glitter at the base of the nail (Kimmie actually prepped nails before the show – so she actually dipped the base into the glitter).
5. Apply two thin coats of Red Carpet Manicure Shine On Top Coat.  
 

Look 2: Ying Yang Kimmie used Red Carpet Manicure’s at-home Pro Kit to apply gel polish.

1. Shape the nail by cutting, filing and pushing back the cuticles and clean nails with Purify Pre and Post Application Cleanser.
2. Preparation: Brush on Prep Max Adhesion Sanitizer to clean nails.
3. Apply one thin coat of Structure Base Coat Gel to four nails, leaving the thumbs for last. Cure in LED Light for 30 seconds.
4. Apply one thin layer of Red Carpet Manicure’s new Pearl Power of the Gem Gel Polish. Cure for 45 seconds in the Professional LED Light. Repeat for second coat.
5. Using a striper brush, make a thin wave with Red Carpet Manicure Black Stretch Limo Gel Polish, fill in one half with brush from gel bottle, Cure for 45 seconds in the Professional LED Light.
6. Using a dotting tool make one small black dot on Pearl side and one small pearl dot on Black Stretch Limo side. Cure for 45 seconds in the Professional LED Light.
7. Apply a thin coat of Brilliance Seal & Shine Top Coat Gel. Cure for 45 seconds in the professional LED Light.
8. Remove tacky residue with Purify Pre & Post Application Cleanser.  
 

Look 3: Old Gold Kimmie used Red Carpet Manicure’s at-home Pro Kit to apply gel polish.
1. Shape the nail by cutting, filing and pushing back the cuticles and clean nails with Purify Pre & Post Application Cleanser.
2. Preparation: Brush on Prep Max Adhesion Sanitizer to clean nails.
3. Apply one thin coat of Structure Base Coat Gel to four nails, leaving the thumbs for last. Cure in LED Light for 30 seconds.
4. Apply one thin layer of Red Carpet Manicure’s I’m So Honored Gel Polish. Cure for 45 seconds in the Professional LED Light. Repeat for second coat.
5. Apply a thin coat of Brilliance Seal & Shine Top Coat Gel. Cure for 45 seconds in the professional LED Light.
6. Remove tacky residue with Purify Pre & Post Application Cleanser. Finish the look by painting a coat of Red Carpet Manicure Standing Ovation Nail Lacquer to create a “old gold” look.  
 

Look 4: SILVER!

1. Prepare and shape the nail by cutting, filing and pushing back the cuticle.
2. One coat of Red Carpet Manicure Clingy Base Coat.
3. Two coats of Red Carpet Manicure Lights, Camera, Action! – It’s a really great chunky silver!
4. Apply one coat of Red Carpet Manicure Shine On Top Coat.  

Look 5: Swirl of Color

1. Prepare and shape the nail by cutting, filing and pushing back the cuticle.
2. Do one coat of Red Carpet Manicure Clingy Base Coat.
3. Do two coats of Red Carpet Manicure On Cloud 9 Lacquer.
4. Allow to dry.
5. Add large drops of On Cloud 9 and small drops of Red Carpet Manicure One of A Kind Lacquer and swirl them around while still very wet with a striper brush.
6. Apply one coat of Red Carpet Manicure Shine On Top Coat.
