Where do you work?
Franco’s Expert Nails

How would you describe yourself?
I live outside of the box, I’ve never stepped inside of it and I never plan to!

How did you get started in the nail industry?
I was helping as a receptionist at a spa that my sister-in-law works in and I started doodling on my nails. The boss saw and encouraged me to go to school for it.

What/Who inspires your work?
The three people that most inspire me are: my teacher, Mrs. Nelson from DEC (Douglas Education Center); my boss,, Chris Franco; and my husband, Miles.

Are there any tools you can’t live without?
I can’t live without my brushes and paint!

What is your favorite technique/style?
I love layering my art with acrylic so you get the 3-D effect with a smooth finish.

What is your funniest/craziest nail story?
When I was in school learning how to apply wraps to nails on a practice hand, I did not realize I had glue on my hand and I sprayed the glue dryer on it. It only took me two seconds to realize I had glued my entire hand to the practice hand. I must have had a scared face because the teacher asked if I was alright. I said yes, but then the class was looking at me. I lifted up my hand to reveal the issue, and everyone laughed, including me.
