Put aside your preconceptions about Nicole Richie based on her days doing The Simple Life. The 31-year-old mother is just as funny as ever, but now with a more polished taste that is surprisingly entertaining to watch.
Her latest project is web series #CandidlyNicole, an original for the latest entertainment and news headquarters, AOL On. Each episode is about five minutes long and frames Nicole’s witticisms on a particular topic based on her Twitter feed.
The most recent piece entitled “Nailed It” features a home visit by celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees. At the beginning of the short, Nicole claims that nail art is for “girls in middle school,” but is willing to venture out by having Kyees spice up a regular polished mani with some outlined moons.
On the other end of the spectrum, Nicole’s guy pal Derek Blasberg easily offers up his hand to be adorned with matte gray polish and animal print. As Nicole puts it, “men can wear nail polish and still look butch.”
