Nail Artist Q&A: “Nailed Down!” with Frances Pentland!

Frances Pentland Composite

Welcome to NAILPRO’s Nailed Down! where we “nail down” nail artists and technicians from our User Galleries and get to know them and their amazing work!

This week we visit Johnson City, Tennessee!

Meet Frances Pentland:

Where do you work?
I am the Lead Nail Technician and am also a Licensed Aesthetician and Massage Therapist at Austin Springs Spa & Salon in Johnson City, TN

How would you describe yourself?
“Team and Client Motivated.” I would not be able to do what I love everyday if I didn’t have the love and support from my amazing team and clients!

How did you get started in the nail industry?
I received all of my nail hours in high school and then I waited about four years to take my test. All of the credit and thanks go to my cosmetology teacher for supporting me after waiting so long to test and also my first boss for seeing something in me and giving me a chance! I have been at Austin Springs for 9 1/2 years now and couldn’t be happier!

What/Who inspires your work?
Social media, our trade magazines, and life in general 🙂

Are there any tools you can’t live without?
My nippers!

What is your favorite technique/style?
Anything and everything glitter!

What tip can you offer other nail technicians?
Never quit learning. Get all of the training, continuing education, and all of the experiences that you can. It will always help and benefit you in everything you do!

Anything else you’d like to add?
Never limit yourself! Always try. You might surprise yourself!!
