Lupe Luiscomposit

Welcome to NAILPRO’s NAILED DOWN where we “nail down” the details of selected nail design artists from our User Galleries.

This week we visit Lancaster, California

Meet Lupe Luis:

How would you describe yourself?
I am spontaneous, funny, outgoing and colorful. I get along with everyone. I push myself to accomplish whatever I’ve set my goals to be.

Tell us about how you got started in the nail industry.
I got my first set of nails when I turned 15, and after that I was hooked! Ever since then I’ve had my nails done. I’m so fascinated by the process and the creativeness of the nail techs, that I watch my nail girl do my nails and I won’t look away.

What/Who inspires your work?
Everything inspires me, but I love to do colorful animal prints.

Tool(s) you can’t live without?
My UV lamp and my drill.

What is your craziest/funniest nail story?
One of my very first sets was on my best friend Ashley. She has very tiny fingernails, so it was hard to work on. When I finished her nails, she said she liked them a lot, but then pointed out her pinky nail and said “Encino Man.” I was like, “What do you mean?” Then she explained that her pinky nail looked like Encino Man in the movie when he was frozen in a big cube of ice. We both started to laugh. It was pretty funny.

What tip can you offer to other nail technicians?
Don’t give up and always ask questions. Don’t be afraid to be extravagant!

Anything else you’d like to add?
This is what I love to do, and I am truly blessed because I can say I love my job!
