Nail Artist Q&A: "Nailed Down!" with Yuko Ho!
Welcome to NAILPRO's NAILED DOWN where we “nail down” the details of selected nail design artists from our User Galleries.
This week we visit Honolulu, Hawaii
Meet Yuko Ho:
Where do you work?
I own the nail salon Pure Nails and beauty school Honolulu Nail Academy, as well as Trump Gel USA.
How would you describe yourself?
I have self-discipline, self-motivation, am very patient and friendly.
Tell us about how you got started in the nail industry.
I was an esthetician and worked at a spa. One of the nail technicians painted a flower on my nail. I was very happy to see the flower on me. It made me think, “This is what I want! I want to make everyone happy and smile!”
What/Who inspires your work?
I get my inspiration from customers' satisfaction and all of my staff.
Are there any tool(s) you can't live without?
My gel brush and art brush.
Do you have a favorite technique or style?
What is your craziest/funniest nail story?
I was pregnant and two days before my due date, I was still working at the salon and then came back two weeks after I'd delivered my son!
What tip can you offer to other nail technicians?
Treat your clients like how you treat yourself.
Do you have anything else you'd like to add?
If you are a professional nail technician, please educate your customers. Don’t just do service without any explanation. And take good care of your customer’s natural nails.
