New Nail Polish Will Detect Date Rape Drugs

Here’s the new thing you need to pack in your bag for college: Undercover Colors nail polish. Four young undergraduate men at North Carolina State University are working on creating a lacquer that students can wear on their nails to detect the presence of “date rape drugs” such as Rohypnol and GHB in a beverage. Genius? We think so.

When wearing the polish, all you would need to do is casually stir your drink with your finger. A change in color would reveal whether it has been spiked. “With our nail polish, any woman will be empowered to discreetly ensure her safety,” Undercover Colors says.

?While the product is still being funded, you can keep up to date on the progress on their Facebook page here.
