Host Taraji B Henson Rocks 8 Different Nail Looks at BET Awards

Manicurist Temeka Jackson (@customtnails1) created eight different nail looks for Host Taraji B Henson at BET Awards and is sharing tutorials for two of them.

Held June 30, 2024 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the 24th BET Awards celebrated Black culture and artistic accomplishments achieved throughout the year. For a night this big, the nail looks are going to have to be dazzling, so it's no surprise that Jackson was up to the task! 

The manicurist created eight unique nail looks for Henson to accompany her different outfit changes throughout the night:

Golden Chain Nails

Henson's red carpet nails feature golden chains to match her floor-skimming gold gown embellished with chains and tassels. Here's how to create the look: 

1. Use extra long sculpted coffin nails for this set.
2. Apply one coat of light pink to the tips as the base color.
3. Then, apply one coat of gold art gel.
4. Apply chrome, and two coats of non-wipe glossy top coat.
5. Then, add chains and bling to the tips with nail glue. Only add Extend Gel Non-Wipe around the chains and bling, then cure for 45 seconds in an LED Lamp.

Icicle Glitter Bling Nails

Henson rocked an icy glitter bling set later in the night. Here's the tutorial for bringing this look to life: 

1. Use natural stiletto long tips for this set. To ensure a perfect fit, size all 10 nails before application. Then, attach the nails to a stand for easy handling. 
2. Apply one coat of a silver glitter gel of your choice, and cure for 30 seconds. 
3. Apply one coat of non-wipe glossy top coat, and cure for 30 seconds. 
4. Apply glitter to the nails, then add 1-2 layers of non-wipe glossy top coat. 
5. Create 3D texture, and add bling to the nails.
6. Apply non-wipe glossy top coat to the nails with 3D texture using a liner brush, then cure for 30 seconds.
